A NEW PATH FORWARD •

GET HELP

FIND THE RIGHT PLACE TO BEGIN

Outreach-16.jpg

Compass Outreach offers practical help for people experiencing homelessness across Coos County, beginning with the need that matters most right now.

That might mean finding a meal, clothing, a shower or somewhere warm during colder weather. For someone else, it may mean sitting down with a person who can help make sense of paperwork, appointments, housing options or the next step ahead.

You do not need to know which program to ask for before you contact us. Tell us what is happening, and we will help you work out where to begin.

HOW SUPPORT WORKS

Compass meets people through meal sites, community outreach, housing programs and partnerships with local service providers, rather than expecting every need to be met in one place. This makes it easier to connect someone with the right kind of support in the setting best suited to provide it.

For many people, a meal site is the simplest place to begin. You can meet our team, speak with peer support and ask questions without first entering a housing program. Housing and case management have their own requirements, which we can explain when those services may be a helpful next step.

CASE MANAGEMENT & PEER SUPPORT

Sometimes what helps most is having someone beside you who can listen, explain the options and make a complicated process more manageable.

Case Management and Peer support is available through community outreach and may include help with appointments, identification documents, applications, referrals and personal goals and needs.

Available to all participants, no matter where they are on their path forward.

HOUSING AND LIVING FACILITIES

Housing needs are different for every person and family.

Compass offers emergency shelter and supported living options for people at different points on the path toward greater stability.

Learn about the available housing programs, who they are designed to support, what participants can expect and how to ask about current availability.

IN OUR OWN VOICES
WHAT SUPPORT CAN LOOK LIKE
Every person’s path is different. Hear people who have worked with Compass share what helped them take a next step and what respectful support meant to them.
WAYS TO HELP

SUPPORT BEYOND COMPASS

Many people are working through several challenges at the same time, and no single organization can provide every kind of care.

When another provider is better placed to help, Compass can explain the available options and help make that connection. This may include health care, behavioral health care, recovery support, benefits, transportation and other community resources.
