When you apply to volunteer, we may collect:

Public services such as meals, shower access, outreach activities and warming center openings generally do not require online registration unless otherwise stated.

Donations

Donations are processed through third party payment providers, including Network for Good and PayPal.

These providers may collect your name, contact information, payment details, donation amount and other information needed to process your gift and provide a receipt. Compass does not collect or store your complete payment card information through its standard website forms.

Compass may receive donor information and transaction details from the payment provider for recordkeeping, acknowledgment and donor communication.

Text and Email Preferences

If you choose to receive text messages or email updates, we collect the contact information and preferences needed to send those communications.

HOW INFORMATION MAY BE SHARED

Compass may share personal information only when reasonably necessary with:

Website and Technology Providers
Wix and other providers may process information to host the website, manage forms, provide email or text communications, prevent spam, analyze site use and support website operations.

Donation Processors
Network for Good, PayPal and related providers process online donations and may share donor and transaction information with Compass.

Screening and Volunteer Service Providers
If a volunteer role requires a reference check or background check, relevant information may be shared with an approved provider after any required notice and authorization.

Community Service Providers
Information may be shared with a community organization when you ask Compass to make a connection or when sharing is reasonably necessary to respond to your request. Compass will limit the information shared to what is relevant and permitted.

Professional Advisers and Authorities
Information may be shared with attorneys, accountants, insurers, government agencies, emergency services or law enforcement when required by law or reasonably necessary to protect someone from harm, investigate misuse or protect legal rights.

Compass does not sell personal information. Compass does not use personal information for targeted advertising or automated profiling that produces legal or similarly significant effects.

CHILDREN'S PRIVACY

This website is not directed to children under 13, and Compass does not knowingly collect personal information online from children under 13 without permission from a parent or legal guardian.

Youth volunteer arrangements must be approved separately by Compass. A parent or legal guardian should contact Compass before a child submits personal information through the website.

CHANGES TO THIS POLICY
